Moxy Niseko Village 2026: New Hotel, Ski Access & What’s Nearby

In September 2026, I returned to Niseko Village and found a major new addition: Moxy Niseko Village, the newly opened lifestyle hotel by Marriott.

I did not stay overnight on this visit, so this is not a room or breakfast review. Instead, I walked around the hotel and surrounding resort area, including NISEKO-YO and Hilton Niseko Village, and also stopped by the construction site for the new Shin Mori-no Gondola, scheduled to begin its first phase of operation in December 2026.

I have visited Niseko Village four times across different seasons.
I came with my children for PURE in August 2025, skied here in late December 2025, returned for winter dining and activities in March 2026, and visited again in September 2026 just after Moxy Niseko Village opened.

Moxy Niseko Village in 2026: What Is It Like Around the Hotel?

When I visited Niseko Village in September 2026, the newly opened Moxy Niseko Village immediately stood out.

I did not stay at the hotel, so I have not reviewed the guest rooms, beds or breakfast. However, I could see part of the public area while walking around the property.

The interior felt noticeably different from a traditional mountain resort hotel, with warm timber walls, colourful furniture and playful artwork.

NISEKO-YO and Hilton Niseko Village are nearby

One advantage of staying in this part of Niseko is that the hotel is not isolated from the rest of the resort.

A short walk around the village brings you to NISEKO-YO, a dining and shopping area, while Hilton Niseko Village is also nearby. That makes it easy to combine skiing or outdoor activities with meals, cafés and a walk around the resort.

August 2025: PURE is a great summer option for families

My first visit in this series was in August 2025, when I came to PURE at Niseko Village with my children.

The area had a completely different atmosphere from winter. We found outdoor activities including the Rail Slider, Pure Quick Jump and large inflatable play areas.

During our visit, the Pure Quick Jump displayed a minimum height requirement of 110 cm. I also found a free kids’ space where younger children could take a break indoors.

Late December 2025: skiing with my children

I returned in late December 2025 and skied at Niseko Village Ski Resort with my children.

This time, the green landscape had completely disappeared beneath the snow. We rode the gondola with our skis and spent the day on the slopes.

Signs on the mountain pointed toward NISEKO-YO, Hilton Niseko Village and other parts of the resort, which helped me understand how closely the accommodation, dining and ski areas are connected.

March 2026: pizza, a hotel café and winter activities

In March 2026, I returned to NISEKO-YO and ate pizza at Baby Crosta.

I also visited The Flame on the first floor of Hilton Niseko Village for coffee and dessert.

The winter experience here is not limited to skiing. During the winter season, we also tried horse-drawn snow tubing, which gave the children another way to enjoy Niseko’s snow.

September 2026: a wild fox and the new gondola under construction

During my September 2026 visit, I also spotted a wild red fox around the Niseko Village area. I kept my distance and did not feed or approach it.

On the way back, I stopped to see construction work for the Shin Mori-no Gondola. The first section is scheduled to open in December 2026, so this visit gave me a firsthand look at Niseko Village while another major part of the resort was still taking shape.

Moxy Niseko Village sits next to the Niseko Village gondola area and offers direct ski-in, ski-out access during winter.

New Chitose Airport is approximately 108 km away. Driving time is roughly two hours under normal conditions, but winter weather and road conditions can make the journey longer.

Parking note: Marriott’s current regional webpages do not show completely consistent parking information. If you plan to arrive by car, I recommend confirming the latest parking arrangements directly with the hotel before travelling.

Niseko Village Ski Resort

The planned 2026–27 ski season runs from 28 November 2026 to 4 April 2027. Night skiing is scheduled from 12 December to 22 March.

Lift and gondola operations can change because of snow, wind and weather conditions, so check the latest operating status before heading onto the mountain.

PURE at Niseko Village in summer

For the 2026 green season, PURE is scheduled to operate from 1 July to 30 September, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with last admission at 4:30 pm.

My own family visit was in August 2025, when we saw activities including the Rail Slider, Pure Quick Jump, inflatable play areas and a free kids’ space. Age and height requirements vary by activity.

NISEKO-YO and Hilton Niseko Village

Both NISEKO-YO and Hilton Niseko Village are within the same resort area, making it possible to combine accommodation, skiing and dining without treating each place as a separate day trip.

Some restaurants operate seasonally, especially around the winter ski season, so check current opening days before visiting a specific restaurant.

Best Time to Visit Niseko Village: Summer vs Winter

I visited Niseko Village in August 2025, late December 2025, March 2026 and September 2026. Each visit felt surprisingly different.

• Summer: outdoor family activities at PURE
• Early winter: skiing and snow-covered scenery
• March: skiing, winter dining and snow activities
• September: walking around the resort and seeing its latest developments

Check height and age restrictions at PURE

Activities at PURE have individual participation requirements. During my August 2025 visit, Pure Quick Jump displayed a minimum height requirement of 110 cm.

If you are travelling with younger children, check which activities they can use before planning the day.

Check lift operations on the day you ski

There was plenty of snow during my late-December 2025 visit, but lift and gondola operations in Hokkaido can change with wind, snowfall and weather.

If skiing is the main reason for your visit, check the resort’s operating information on the day.

I photographed ski-pass prices in December 2025 and restaurant menus in March 2026. These are useful records of my visits, but prices change, so I do not treat those older boards as current pricing. Check the latest official rates before booking or visiting.

Keep your distance from wild foxes

I saw a wild fox around Niseko Village in September 2026. Wild animals should not be approached or fed. I photographed it from a distance and allowed it to move freely.

In August 2025, we came for summer activities at PURE. In late December, I skied here with my children. In March 2026, I returned for winter dining and snow activities. By September, Moxy Niseko Village had opened and construction on the new gondola was visibly progressing.
