Uber Eats Niseko is scheduled to launch on November 30, 2026, with delivery available in selected parts of Kutchan, HANAZONO and Niseko Hirafu.
The original launch date was September 7, 2026. However, a later notice from Uber Eats Japan changed both the planned start date and the initial delivery areas.
Latest information as of October 1, 2026
* Planned launch date: November 30, 2026
* Central Kutchan & HANAZONO Resort: delivery by four-wheeled motor vehicles
* Niseko Hirafu 1-jo & 2-jo: delivery on foot only
I previously worked as an Uber Eats courier in another part of Japan, and in late August 2026 I also attended an Uber Eats courier registration briefing in Kutchan.
This guide combines what I heard at that briefing with the newer information provided by Uber Eats Japan. It explains when Uber Eats is expected to start in Niseko, where delivery is planned, and what “on-foot delivery” in Hirafu actually means.
After the service launches on November 30, I plan to check the live app, participating restaurants, actual delivery coverage and the on-foot delivery system locally, then update this guide with firsthand information.
Uber Eats Niseko Launch: What Changed for November 2026?
The launch moved from September 7 to November 30
Uber Eats was originally expected to begin operating in the Niseko and Kutchan area on September 7, 2026.
A later notice from Uber Eats Japan changed the planned launch date to November 30, 2026.
The notice explained that the revised plan took into account local concerns including winter-season traffic congestion, as well as operational arrangements for participating restaurants and delivery partners.
The initial delivery area is divided into two zones
The most important change for both customers and couriers is the new delivery-area structure.
Area 1 | Central Kutchan & HANAZONO Resort
Delivery by four-wheeled motor vehicles🚗
Area 2 | Niseko Hirafu 1-jo & 2-jo
Delivery on foot only🚶
At the registration briefing, I had already been told that Hirafu was expected to use couriers on foot. The newer notice makes the plan more specific by naming Niseko Hirafu 1-jo and 2-jo as the planned on-foot delivery area.
I also attended the Uber Eats courier briefing in Kutchan
In late August 2026, I attended an Uber Eats courier registration briefing in Kutchan. I wrote a separate firsthand report about what was explained at the meeting and how the delivery plan was described at that stage.
The original report is on my Ameba Blog and is written in Japanese.

What does “delivery on foot” mean in Hirafu?
It does not mean that customers have to walk somewhere to collect their food.
Under the current plan, delivery partners serving Niseko Hirafu 1-jo and 2-jo will deliver orders on foot.
Exactly which restaurants will deliver to which hotels or condominiums, and how long individual deliveries will take, cannot yet be confirmed. I will check these details after the service launches.
Participating restaurants will be checked after launch
Uber Eats already has a Kutchan delivery page online. However, I am not treating the restaurants currently visible there as the confirmed November 30 launch lineup.
After launch, I will enter local delivery addresses into the app and update this article with restaurants that are actually available to order from.

Check your exact delivery address in the Uber Eats app

Uber Eats Niseko FAQ
When is Uber Eats expected to launch in Niseko?
Uber Eats Japan’s updated notice gives November 30, 2026 as the planned launch date for the Niseko and Kutchan rollout. The original planned date was September 7, 2026.
Where will Uber Eats deliver in the Niseko area?
The current plan lists two initial areas: central Kutchan and HANAZONO Resort, plus Niseko Hirafu 1-jo and 2-jo. Exact address coverage should be checked in the app after launch.
Will Uber Eats couriers really deliver on foot in Hirafu?
Yes, according to the current plan. Niseko Hirafu 1-jo and 2-jo are scheduled to use on-foot couriers. Customers do not need to walk to collect their food simply because the courier is delivering on foot.
How will orders be delivered in Kutchan and HANAZONO?
The updated plan states that central Kutchan and HANAZONO Resort will use four-wheeled motor vehicles for delivery.
Which restaurants will be available on Uber Eats in Niseko?
I will verify the live restaurant selection after the November 30 launch. Restaurant participation and operating hours can change, so I am not publishing a final restaurant list before launch.
Can Uber Eats deliver to hotels and condominiums in Hirafu?
That will depend on the delivery address and the property’s own food-delivery arrangements. I plan to check actual hotel and condominium delivery conditions after launch rather than guessing before the service begins.
Why was the launch delayed from September?
The Uber Eats Japan notice says the revised plan considered local concerns including winter tourism traffic, as well as operational arrangements for participating restaurants and delivery partners.
If Uber rides already work in Niseko, does that mean Uber Eats is already fully operating?
No. Uber rides and Uber Eats are separate services. Uber ride services are already available in Niseko, while this article covers the food-delivery rollout scheduled for November 30, 2026.
What to Know Before Using Uber Eats in Niseko
This is a pre-launch guide
This article reflects information available as of October 1, 2026, including what I heard at the courier registration briefing and the later service update from Uber Eats Japan.
Once the service launches, live information shown in the Uber Eats app will take priority, and I will update this guide accordingly.
Do not assume all of Hirafu is included
The current notice specifically identifies Niseko Hirafu 1-jo and 2-jo for on-foot delivery.
I am therefore not describing all of Hirafu as a confirmed Uber Eats delivery area. Travelers should enter their exact accommodation address after launch to check eligibility.
Hotel delivery procedures are not confirmed yet
If you order to a hotel or condominium, the handoff location may depend on the property.
I have not yet confirmed whether individual properties will accept delivery at reception, require collection at the entrance or use another arrangement. I will add verified information after November 30.
Planned November 30 update
I plan to check participating restaurants, actual address coverage, fees shown in the app, estimated delivery times, hotel handoff procedures and how Hirafu’s on-foot delivery works in practice.

- Residents checking the planned delivery areas
- People interested in becoming an Uber Eats courier locally
Uber Eats in Niseko and Kutchan is currently scheduled to begin on November 30, 2026, after the original September launch plan was revised.
The unusual part of the rollout is the difference between the two areas: delivery by motor vehicle in central Kutchan and HANAZONO, and delivery on foot in Niseko Hirafu 1-jo and 2-jo.
Because I have previous Uber Eats delivery experience and attended the local courier briefing, I plan to follow this beyond the initial announcement.
After launch, this page will be updated with what customers and couriers can actually see and experience on the ground in Niseko.
Planning a Winter Trip to Niseko?
Niseko Hirafu 1-jo and 2-jo include accommodation used by winter visitors, while HANAZONO is another major resort area included in the current Uber Eats rollout plan.
If your travel dates are already set, checking accommodation and activities at the same time can make it easier to plan where to stay and how to spend your trip.
