More Than 30 Dinosaurs and Dragons
Nitori Yoichi Dinosaur Park features a wide variety of dinosaur models, including Brachiosaurus, Tyrannosaurus, Triceratops and Stegosaurus.
The Yoichi Tourism Association describes the park as having approximately 30 dinosaurs, while some media reports have mentioned 35 models. To avoid overstating the exact number, this article describes the park as having more than 30 dinosaurs and dragons.
During our visit, the large dinosaur models could be seen from a distance on the orchard hillside. The long-necked Brachiosaurus was especially impressive, and its size felt much greater when viewed from directly below.
Some Dinosaurs Move and Roar
The park does not only feature stationary models. Some dinosaurs move their heads and necks while making roaring sounds.
The skin texture, eyes, teeth and body patterns are carefully designed, making the dinosaurs look surprisingly realistic when viewed up close.
Children who love dinosaurs may find them exciting, but younger children can sometimes be frightened by their size, loud sounds or sudden movements.
When my son was around two years old, he saw a moving and roaring dinosaur at another attraction. He became frightened, said that he wanted to go home and ran away from it. Children who are easily scared may feel more comfortable watching from a distance at first.
Refreshing Mist Sprays from the Brachiosaurus
The tallest dinosaur in the park, a long-necked Brachiosaurus, sprayed a fine, shower-like mist from its mouth.
Rather than feeling like heavy water droplets, it felt more like standing inside a light mist. It was refreshing during the hot summer weather.
When I used my smartphone to take photos, the mist was not strong enough to require a waterproof cover.
However, staying in the mist for a long time could allow moisture to enter the charging port, speakers or microphone. It is a good idea to check your phone for water droplets after taking photos and avoid leaving it in the mist for an extended period.
Many Photo Spots for Families and Social Media
The park has many photo opportunities, including large dinosaurs, a three-headed dragon, dinosaur eggs and a transparent apple-shaped display.
My fifth-grade daughter took many pictures to show her friends. Rather than simply looking at the dinosaurs, she enjoyed finding her own camera angles and deciding where to take photos.
This makes the park enjoyable not only for younger children but also for older elementary school students who enjoy photography and videos.
We also saw mist effects around the three-headed dragon. One photo area made it look as though visitors were standing inside the dragon’s mouth, making it an entertaining spot for family photos and social media posts.
At Least Five Dinosaur Ride-On Cars
We saw at least five dinosaur ride-on cars in the designated riding area. They came in different colors and designs, and several young children appeared to enjoy riding them without being frightened.
On opening day, staff members were present and allowed visitors to ride without using a special coin. However, a sign at the park stated that visitors would normally need to purchase a dedicated coin at the reception desk.
The operating system may change after the opening period. Before riding, ask the reception staff about the current fee and how to purchase the required coin.
The Ride-On Cars Require Some Practice
My fifth-grade daughter rode one of the dinosaur cars by herself. Instead of using a steering wheel like a regular car, the ride was operated by gripping and twisting the handle, similar to a motorcycle throttle.
She was still learning how to control it when her turn ended. Even older elementary school children may need a little time to understand the operation.
It is safest for an adult to remain nearby at the beginning and watch how the child handles the vehicle.
A sign at the attraction also advises younger children to ride with an adult. Parents should observe the child’s ability rather than deciding based only on age.

The park includes an observation deck overlooking the dinosaur area, Nitori Tourist Orchard and vineyards used for wine production.
Beyond the dinosaurs, visitors may also see the Sea of Japan and Cape Shiripa. The combination of large dinosaurs and Hokkaido scenery makes this a distinctive photography location.

Nitori Yoichi Dinosaur Park is open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Nitori Tourist Orchard is normally open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with final admission at 4:00 p.m. The dinosaur park therefore closes earlier than the main orchard facilities.
A sign at the site stated that the usual operating season is expected to run from late April until early November.
However, because the dinosaur park first opened on July 25 in 2026, the opening date for its first season differed from the schedule expected in future years.
How to Pay for Admission
Admission tickets can be purchased by credit card at the dinosaur park reception desk.
Visitors paying in cash must complete the payment at the Nitori Tourist Orchard shop. Cash is accepted, but the payment location is different from the credit card counter.
Restrooms and Vending Machines
We confirmed that restrooms and vending machines were available within the dinosaur park grounds.
This makes it easier for families to purchase drinks or use the restroom during their visit.

Because the orchard is some distance from JR Yoichi Station, traveling by car or taxi is the most practical option.

The dinosaur park itself can be visited in a relatively short time. However, combining it with fruit picking and sweets at Nitori Tourist Orchard can create an enjoyable half-day family outing.
Families who reserve Jingisukan grilled lamb at least three days in advance can also include lunch and spend from the morning until the afternoon at the orchard.
Fresh lamb Jingisukan is priced at ¥2,200, while marinated Jingisukan is ¥1,900. Each serving includes 200 grams of meat and vegetables. Rice balls and bowls of rice can also be ordered separately.
