So we headed to our favorite summer escape: Ebisu and Daikoku Rocks in Yoichi. No matter the season, it’s never too crowded, and we can enjoy the ocean at our own pace.

When we arrived, the ocean sparkled, and the green cliffs of Ebisu Rock stood like a fairytale backdrop. The air was so fresh, I caught myself taking deep, happy breaths.

4. Our Daughter’s Sea Urchin Encounter – Classic

Our 4th-grade daughter dashed into the water with her trusty net from DAISO. Just one minute in, she yelled, “Mom, I found a sea urchin!” holding it proudly in a bucket.

But Wait – Sea Urchins Are Protected!

Turns out, taking wild sea urchins without permission is illegal in Japan. So, after observing it closely, we gently returned it to the ocean with a “Bye-bye, Uni-san!”

We call it our family’s way: “Play fully, respect deeply.”
